April 4, 2008
President George Bush today signed a document proclaiming April 6, 2008, as National Tartan Day! You may view the Presidential Proclamation on the following link: http://www.pr-inside.com/proclamation-by-the-president-national-tartan-day-r520985.htm
WE
HAVE JUST ENCLOSED THE MOST RECENT MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF RELAYING HIS
VIEWS OF THE WHAT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED BY SOME ABOUT "THE GREAT FEUD."
YOU MAY WANT TO VIEW THE CHIEF'S VERY ENTERTAINING COMMENTS BY CLICKING
ON "HERE" UNDER Clan Historian, David Rorer's latest material, FARTHER DOWN THIS SECTION . ALSO, PART 3 OF DAVID RORER'S WORK ON "THE GREAT FEUD" IS ALSO INCLUDED ON THE SAME PAGE. AS WE INDICATED, Go to the page by clicking the "HERE" link , UNDER Clan Historian, David Rorer's latest material... farther down this section. (Please note: You will need your member codes in order to access this material.)
Please email us
with your current email address so that you may receive your newsletter
and so that we can communicate with you...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
because, except for membership renewals, we ONLY communicate by email,
postage is too expensive. If you do not have an up-to-date email
address listed in our database, you will not receive email from us and
that includes the Newseltter. If you use AOL or an email client that
uses aggressive filters, you may need to see that email from us gets
through those filters. If you are not receiving the Newsletter you need
to notify your internet service provider (ISP) not to put the Society
on a list where our email is blocked by these filters. A simple phone
call to their customer service should do it. If you ARE receiving email
and the Newsletter then you DON'T need to notify your email client to
add us to their "OK" list.
Tech note: Since our site lapse of a few weeks ago, we have not been able to get some of the links on the home page to function. We are working on the problem and should have it fixed within a short time...
The
response to our new newsletter initiative is very gratifying and beyond
our expectations at this point. Allow us to suggest that you print
copies of the newsletter on your color printer (or have it copied at
Kinko's) and pass it around to relatives and other Macnabs who may want
to join our Society. Every new member helps us provide better service
to those who have already joined.
As a
reminder, there are certain portions of this web site that are
restricted by password to members only. The reason for this is that we
feel it is not fair for some to pay for providing a web site and
services and for others to pay nothing in support. We feel that having
information on the site that is only accessible to those who are
current with their dues provides a service in the form of private,
restricted information available only for them. Dues are due on January
1 of each year and those who have not paid their dues by March 31 are
removed from the active member list and the access codes to the member
only portions of the web site are changed. The new codes are provided
to paid up and current members in the renewal letter thanking them for
their support. please look for these and write them down where you can
find them when you receive your initial membership or renewal mailing.
If your access codes suddenly stop working after March 31, please check
to see if your dues are current. We keep a database of those who are
current and those who have been current in the past but have not paid
by March 31 and you can always email us to see if our records ahow that
your dues are current. Also, please email us if you feel we have made a
mistake and not updated the database to reflect your dues payment.
Occasionally we do not receive our mail and/or we may have missed
entering your payment.
